Debbie Lord’s mother, Isabelle, entered Pine Valley Community Village’s Rehabilitation and Therapy after she suffered a broken hip in 2014. She stayed for about three months. This was her second experience here, with the first one at an earlier time following a broken pelvic bone.
Debbie says that her mother liked the stay at Pine Valley. And the family—Debbie has four brothers—is very happy with the care that Isabelle received. Last year, when her arthritis started causing problems in daily living, which in turn caused her not to eat well and to experience anxiety about her ability to care for herself, Debbie and the family looked into assisted living options for Isabelle. It was a difficult decision to move to assisted living, but when Isabelle was ready, she said she wanted to move back to Pine Valley Community Village. She liked it there. The day that she moved in, Isabelle said, “I’m not even going to turn around and look back.”
